APF has extended the lease contract for Timberland’s current European distribution centre measuring 39,000 m² of leasable floor area (including office and mezzanine) and concluded a new lease contract for an extension of 13,000 m² of leasable floor area. This involves a long-term lease contract for a total surface area of 52,000 m².
To cover the new construction activities for Timberland, a perpetual leasehold agreement was concluded with Regionaal Business Park Twente (Almelo municipality) for 19,300 m² of land. A Design & Build contract was concluded with Systabo, a contractor specialised in distribution centres, for design and turnkey realisation. APF managed the project from design to realisation within a highly ambitious time frame. This involved obtaining an environmental permit within weeks in collaboration with the Almelo municipality and Systabo, among others, and ready-for-use delivery of the building to Timberland within a mere seven months.
After extending the lease agreement and realising the expansion, Aspen sold the building to a foreign investor specialising in logistics real estate.
